Wave goodbye to underarm sweat marks

Have you ever felt embarrassed about sweat patches under you arms? Would you like to reduce the amount you sweat from your arm pits? Do you find yourself unable to wear certain clothes due to the excessive marks left by sweat, even if it’s not that warm? Do you spend hours clamping your arms by your sides hoping nobody will notice? If any of this sounds familiar read on…

Many people suffer from excess sweating, often it’s just something they feel they have to try and live with. However, it can lead to anxiety, make us feel embarrassed, and affect our self-esteem and overall happiness. Ultimately, the embarrassment of big sweat patches can hold people back, affecting  relationships, social life and even hinder your career.

But there are solutions.

BOTOX® injections can be used to ‘switch off’ the sweat glands, a very different results to the anti-wrinkle effects it is usually used for. The toxin used in these injections works by blocking the signal from the nerve to the sweat gland. And as if by magic the excess sweating is just turned off. The treatment takes up to 14 days to have it’s maximum effect, and results can last 6-12 months.

There is no downtime from the treatment. At my clinic in Wilmslow you could have the treatment in your lunch break and go about your day as normal.

Being a doctor I always make sure I have discussed other medical conditions that may cause excess sweating. If I identify anything concerning I will recommend seeing your own doctor before having the treatment.

There are very few side effects, a little stinging at the time and possibly a little bruising, but who’s going to see that - it’s under your arms! I do warn my patients that sometimes people can notice excess sweating in another area, as a compensatory effect, but usually this is much less troublesome than the underarm sweating.

So, if you’ve been inspired to look into this treatment more, book a free video or telephone consultation - we’d be happy to help.
